Tennessee Miracles Classic
Jefferson City TN
April 2, 3, 2009

The WV Thunder 10u team went 5-0 this weekend to win the Tennessee Miracle Classic in Jefferson City, TN. They beat TN Extreme, Alabama Cardinals and Lexington Blaze in pool play to advance to the championship bracket play.

In the semi-finals the Thunder beat Tennessee Shooters 38-22,  Lexi Barrier had 12 pts and 7 rebounds to lead the the Thunder.  Taliah Cashwell added 10 pts in the semi-final game also.

In the championship game the Thunder defeated Ohio Express 41-22.  Lexi Barrier had 11 pts, 15 rebounds and 6 steals to lead the Thunder in the title game.  Mychelle Johnson added 15 pts, 6 steals and 6 rebounds.

Dayton Super Regional
Dayton OH
April 4, 5, 2009

The WV Thunder 10u finished the weekend with a 4-2 record and finished Second Place in the Dayton Super Regional Tournament.  Both defeats came by Dayton Lady Hoopstars Black.  In the semi-finals the Thunder defeated Ohio Express 31-27.  In the semi's Taliah Cashwell led the team in scoring with 8 points and Lexi Barrier had 7 pts, 10 rebounds and 6 steals.  In the championship game the Thunder led most of the game but fell short at the end 48-41. Mychelle Johnson led all scorers with 22 pts, 7 rebounds and 4 steals.  Kacie Hall added 8 points and 7 rebounds.
